Having bad dreams? Dreams of past occurrences? I have the same thing and I created something that works for me but it also might work for you. Just follow the steps and soon these dreams will be gone.
Go through the normal motions of getting ready for bed.
Pray, read a good book or write your thoughts down. Do something to get your thoughts and worries out.
Relax, if it helps stretch a little and breath evenly.
If you've read the meditation articles, use your meditation before going to sleep.
Tips
- If you do not pray then think positive thoughts about all the GOOD things that have happened to you today. Think them till you fall asleep
- Keeping an even deep breathing pattern also helps to clear your mind and think positive
- If these dreams still occur tell a professional or a TRUSTED family member or friend. Someone who will not tell someone else.
- Taking a hot bath with aroma therapy oils in it might help you relax a little.
- The main key is to relax.
- Try and dream about GOOD things when you fall asleep, or possibly before you fall into a really deep sleep.
- Get someone to sleep with you if it gets really bad, perhaps a sibling or get a friend to sleep over. They'll help calm your mind down, for more than one night sometimes.
- Try not to think about the things that worry you, such as upcoming exams or a bad relationship with someone.
- If what's causing the nightmare can be fixed, don't be afraid to try and sort it out.
Warnings
- NEVER try and stay awake to stop the dream from happening. You always drop off in the end.
