Having trouble sleeping? Here are a few ways that could help you sleep better.
If you wake up with a stiff back, try a new mattress.
If your neck hurts, try a new pillow.
Try drinking some water before sleeping.
An air purifier or humidifier can help some sleep, especially if you have a dry throat or nose in the morning.
Don't do anything for 30 minutes before bed, unless reading. But read somewhere other than your bed since you want your brain to only think of bed as sleep, not read or video game.
Don't listen to music before bed since it will get stuck in your head and you won't sleep well.
Set a routine, like go to bed at 10:30 and wake up around 7:30. Routines are proven to help keep your body rested.
Vacuum around the room and keep it clean and fresh, sometimes dirt can be difficult to sleep with.
If your problems are continuing no matter what you try, consult a Sleep Therapist or an allergenist because you may have sleep apnia or be allergic to something like dust mites that are common around the bed area.
Tips
- Don't have Caffeine before bed.
- If you like tea before bed, drink herbal teas that aren't caffeinated.
- Concentrate on something happy or a wish you have, but nothing that requires a lot of thinking or else you'll end up awake for a while longer.
Warnings
- If you are having real bad sleeps, you probably should see a Sleep Therapist. You may have a sleep condition.
